During WWI, Italians empathized with the poor, terrorized but dignified mankind struggling in the trenches, where different regional dialects, stories and musical traditions got mixed up for the very first time in Italian history. In the hundredth anniversary of the outbreak of the Great War, Ambrogio Sparagna will re-propose the songs which echoed in the trenches and in the hearts of these simple men, who sought solace from the inhumanity of war in the voice and power of sung poetry. The programme also includes an original collection of Hungarian, Slovenian, Austrian and Serbo-Croatian songs about this tragic moment in European history. A concert that will remind our hearts of the days in the trenches.
